They’re all lovely — but the last set (Ishra outside) is my favourite. I like the contrast between her delicate costume, her heavy coat and the starkness of the backdrop.
I love the last one, just because I could take a million pictures and never capture the wind blowing the scarf/veil thing upwards in that beautiful curve like that.
I love the last one. I just love it. It’s like: we humans are the only color to be found in winter. Or like: screw winter! Or like she’s the first flower of spring. But the expression on her face, her stance, belies my optimism.
I have to say that I think they are all brilliant! I do have some that I find pop more than others, but on the whole, they are really well conceived images. Looking forward to more please.
They’re great. I like the middle one in the first set, the pregnant belly dancer, and the last one the best. It’s definitely a project to keep pursuing.
I love the capture of the curlique of scarf, but I think overall I like how you interpreted the colour for these. The tones are so muted and dark for what is usually a very vivid costume — makes for interesting contrast, I think. (I really like the movement of the orange one in the stairwell, too.)

The second photo of the second set is my absolute favorite…but the fifth from that set is a pretty close second.
These are excellent.

Also? That is a really tall snowbank.

Oh wow, these are really wonderful to look at. And I love that you call this post ‘Unveiling.

Did you get my comment left last week regarding Susan Senator who among many other things is all-belly dancer?

PS Maybe I forgot to hit “submit comment” because now it is there.
Google Susan Senator.
I love the second one and the captured twirl of the orange scarves, like a wave.
I love the movement of the scarf in the last one and the slash of red across the bleak winter landscape.

There is something wild and mesmerizing about those photos – the juxtaposition of the exotic and the quotidian…
